Fishers of Men, held their third event of the year at Truman Lake, launching out of Sterret Creek, at 5:30 AM to a day that saw wind gusts in the 30 MPH range and temperatures in the 90’s.

The Friday night meeting the evening before had 12 participants.  Once again the Jacksons scored well with the raffle prizes, taking home the rod & reel combo donated by Bass Pro in Columbia for the second tournament in a row. 

Six teams went after the $1000.00 guaranteed purse on Saturday, but only one team managed a limit that garnered the prize for them.  The team of Andy & Bud Renkoski weighed in 5 Bass that tipped the scales at 10.57, anchored by the big Bass of the day at 2.64 pounds.  They fished the Little Tebo and Grand River area, pitching jigs on 15 pound P-Line.  They reported water temps of 76 to 79 degrees.  All their fish were caught in muddy water, 2 to 4 foot deep.  Their efforts won first place, Big Bass, and first place in the ”Bonus Bucks” Pot - total winning of $1000.00.  Andy is supported by Bass Pro Shops, Nitro Boats, Mercury Marine, TEAM Chevrolet, P-Line, and KOBE 90.7.

 Second Big Bass, weighing 2.50 pounds went to Randolph Roustio.  He was flipping a jig & pig in 2 feet of water in the Tebo area.  His fish was caught on 10 pound P-Line in stained water.  Although not huge, it was worth about .10 cents a pound, paying Randolph $24.00.

 Second place in the Bonus Bucks pot went to newcomers Jeff Wilkins and Troy Darling.  They earned $30.00 for two fish weighing 4.18 pounds, despite breaking down and requiring repairs.  Who know what they could have done without a lengthy interruption!

 The team of Ken and Bryan Jackson won third in the Bonus Bucks pot and managed to land the largest “junk” fish, winning that $40.00 pot with a lively White Bass that tipped the scales at .65 pounds.  No folks that’s not a typo - .65 pounds!  They also placed third in the Bonus Bucks pot, making their total winnings for the day $60.00.

 Our next event is July 12^th at Bull Shoals, taking off from Bull Shoals Boat Dock.  Official Lodging is Bel Arco Resort.
