Table Rock Lake – May 3rd, 2008
The Friday night meeting was held at Lunker Landing in Shell Knob. After overindulging in pizza , the participants heard a meaningful message from Brother John Gamblin, our division chaplain.
Table Rock was still at record
levels. The good folks at Lunker Landing had one of the few accessible
docks on the lake and an area where boats could launch. Even though
there were only 6 teams, it proved to be a great day for fishing, with
all teams catching fish, and four of the six catching limits!
The team of Larry and Brock Herron barely beat out the second place team
with a limit weighing 16.92 pounds. Their mixed bag of Largemouth,
Kentucky’s, and Smallmouth was anchored by the big Bass of the day, a
5.34 pound Largemouth. They took home the guaranteed $1000.00 first
prize.
The second place team, with 16.86 pounds, Andy & Bud Renkoski took home prize money of $60.00 for finishing in the top spot for the Bonus Bucks prize. Andy is supported by Nitro, Bass Pro Shops, Team Chevrolet, Mercury Marine, KOBC, and P-line.
The third place team of Garon smith and Ryan Chamberlin received $24.00 for second big bass which weighed 4.78 pounds.
Kevin and Bryan Jackson’s 10.85 pounds earned them $36.00 for a second place finish in the Bonus Bucks pot.
Finishing up third in the bonus bucks money, Randolph Roustio and John Gamblin received $24.00. They team also scored a win in the junk fish category with a 1.73 pound Crappie, which was delicious. For that, they won an additional $20.00.
The methods used were similar. With the exception of Carolina rigging by the Jackson team, the fish were caught on spinnerbaits and jigs. The water was stained (to put it mildly) with temperatures ranging from 58 to 62 degrees. Some fish were caught deep, but most were shallow.
